Can you stay hidden so it stays a surprise?
Yes. We plan a discreet position in advance and blend into the surroundings, so your partner won't know until the photos appear.
What's the difference between a proposal and an engagement shoot?
A proposal shoot captures the moment you get down on one knee — the surprise itself. An engagement shoot happens after you're already engaged, capturing your newly engaged portraits without the surprise element. If you've already proposed, ask us about our engagement session instead.
What happens if it rains or plans change?
Rescheduling is possible up to three days before the shoot. After that, any change is at the photographer's discretion and subject to their availability. We'll always help you find a backup Tokyo location that works for the conditions on the day.
How far in advance should we book?
We need a 72-hour minimum lead, but popular dates and cherry-blossom season fill early in Tokyo — sooner is better.
Can you help us choose the location and time?
Absolutely. We'll suggest Tokyo spots that suit the moment you want and time the shoot for the best light.
When will we receive our photos?
You'll receive a sneak peek with the proposal moment on the same day. The full edited gallery is delivered within five to seven business days.
Which Tokyo locations are best for proposals in each season?
Spring is cherry blossom season, with Shinjuku Gyoen a standout, but busy choice. Your photographer will suggest quiet, locals-only parks if needed. Summer works best for early-morning shoots before the heat and crowds build; atmospheric side streets and gardens are ideal. Autumn brings stunning foliage to temple grounds and parks, with Hibiya Park and Shinjuku Gyoen looking especially fine. Winter is quieter across the board, which is actually an advantage: fewer people, softer light, and a better chance of having a garden or viewpoint to yourselves. Gardens with clusters of plum blossoms are a winter-specific highlight from late January through February.
