How it works

From first message to your gallery

Booking a private photoshoot in Japan is simpler than you think. Here is exactly what to expect.

Book it

Tell us what you want and when. We take it from there.

Choose your session type and destination

Couples, families, proposals, or pre-wedding. Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Mt. Fuji, and more. Not sure which fits? Our pricing page has a comparison table.

Pick your date

Book 2–4 weeks ahead for the best choice of photographer and timing. During cherry blossom season and autumn foliage, 2–3 months in advance.

Choose a photographer or let us match you

Browse photographer profiles and pick the style that speaks to you. Or tell us your vibe and we will recommend the right person for your session.

Confirm and you are done for now

Once your booking is confirmed, we send you everything you need. No chasing, no back-and-forth. We reach out to you before the shoot day.

We help you find the right location

Already have a spot in mind? We will confirm it is a good fit. If not, we will suggest the best location for your style, season, and the kind of photos you want.

We advise on timing for light and crowds

Golden hour, early morning, or midday. Depending on your location and the season, timing makes a real difference. We tell you exactly when to show up and why.

Your photographer reaches out

They will confirm the meeting point, walk through what to expect, and answer any last-minute questions. You will know exactly where to go and what the shoot will look like.

Permits and restrictions handled for you

Some temples, shrines, and popular spots have photography rules. We know where they apply and plan your session accordingly. No surprises on the day.

Plan it

We handle the logistics so you can focus on being present.

Shoot it & get your photos

The day itself, and what lands in your gallery afterwards.

Meet your photographer and explore together

Your photographer guides you through the session with easy prompts, using invisible direction. Most clients tell us they forgot the camera was there after the first ten minutes.

Natural photos, not performances

We photograph the real moments, the laugh, the look, the spontaneous things. No stiff group poses, no forced smiles. The best photos happen between the setups.

Your edited gallery arrives in 5–7 days

A private online gallery with full-resolution downloads. Natural, timeless edits. The link does not expire and it's yours to keep, share, and print whenever you like. Pre-wedding sessions take a little longer — 7–9 days — to allow for the more considered edit they call for.

What we help with

Beyond the shoot itself, here is what we take off your plate.

Location for your style and season

Cherry blossoms in spring, foliage in autumn, snow in Hokkaido. We match the spot to the moment.

Timing for light and low crowds

We know when popular spots are quietest and when the light is at its best. We build that into your plan.

Permit and access guidance

Some locations have photography rules or entry fees. We flag them in advance and plan around them.

English support from start to finish

Every conversation before, during, and after your shoot happens in English. No translation needed.

Consistent across all photographers

Whoever shoots your session, you get a natural, timeless edit style PMT is known for.

Rain and weather backup

Japan weather changes fast. If conditions shift, we help you decide: reschedule, adjust the location, or lean into it — rain makes for beautiful photos too.

Questions, answered

Everything people ask us before booking for the first time.

Yes. Every photographer on the team works fluently in English. Our support team does too. From the moment you book to the moment your gallery arrives, every conversation happens in English.
Not at all. This is the most common thing people tell us before their shoot. Our photographers guide you with simple, low-key prompts so the photos look natural rather than posed. Most clients tell us afterwards it felt nothing like they expected — more like a walk with a friend.
We recommend 2–4 weeks in advance for most sessions. During cherry blossom season in spring and autumn foliage, book 2–3 months ahead — those dates fill very quickly. Last-minute bookings are sometimes possible depending on availability, but earlier gives you more flexibility on photographer, timing, and location.
Yes. For walkable areas, it is possible to move between spots in a one-hour session. If your locations require travel time between them, a two-hour session gives you the space to do it without rushing. Your photographer will help you plan a realistic route in advance.
Rain in Japan produces beautiful photos — reflections, umbrellas, quieter streets. We always shoot unless conditions are genuinely unsafe. If you would prefer not to shoot in the rain, your photographer will discuss rescheduling options depending on availability.
Your edited gallery is delivered within 5–7 business days via a private online link. Pre-wedding sessions take 7–9 days. For proposals, you also receive a same-day sneak peek straight after the shoot. The gallery link does not expire — it is yours to keep, download, and share at any time.
We do not deliver RAW files. You receive carefully edited high-resolution images in our signature style, ready to post, print, and share. If you have specific editing questions, talk to us before your shoot and we will make sure expectations are aligned.
Cancellations are generally accepted up to 3 days before your session. For Fuji region sessions, it is 10 days. Please contact us as soon as you know and we will do our best to help.
Yes. You can browse photographer profiles and request the one whose style feels right for your session. If you would prefer a recommendation, tell us about your group and what you are hoping for and we will suggest someone whose approach is a good match.
