Pre-Wedding Photoshoots in Japan

Two packages. Real Japan locations. Photography built around the shoot you actually want — whether you're arriving with everything planned, or want us to help shape it.

What is it

A shoot for the chapter before the wedding

A pre-wedding photoshoot is a portrait session for couples who are engaged or married, done away from the wedding day itself — no ceremony schedule, no guest list, no timeline pressure. In Japan it usually means one of two things: a couple visiting on a honeymoon or anniversary trip who want a session woven into their itinerary, or a couple — often planning from Singapore, Malaysia, or elsewhere in Southeast Asia — who build a dedicated trip around the shoot.

Either way, the appeal is the same: real Japan locations, natural light, and the freedom to move through a city or a season at your own pace.

Find your vibe

Every couple shoots differently. Pick the direction that feels like you — or mix both in one session.

Outfit styles

Bridal, kimono, or something bolder — the package price is the same either way. It only changes if you'd like our help coordinating extra preparation.

Additional pricing applies only when we help coordinate makeup/hair, rentals, dressing schedules, transport, or other vendor needs — not for the outfit style itself.

How it works

  1. Book your package

Choose Essential or Premium and tell us your city, date, and outfit direction.

  2. Plan it

Essential: we confirm timing and location. Premium: a planning call or questionnaire covers route, styling, and preparation flow.

  3. Shoot it

Your photographer directs the session across your chosen locations and vibe.

  4. Cherish it

Receive your edited digital gallery and relive the day whenever you like.

Packages & pricing

Two ways to book. Same base price across bridal, kimono, and Fancy Edge outfits — the difference is how much of the shoot we help design.

Questions, answered

What's the difference between Essential and Premium?

Essential is for couples who already know their style, have outfits arranged, and just want strong photography, basic timing guidance, and an edited gallery. Premium is for couples who want us to help shape the shoot before the day — location and route planning, outfit and styling guidance, a planning call, and assisted access to prep add-ons where available.

Does the outfit I choose change the price?

No. Bridal, kimono, and Fancy Edge are priced the same within each package when you arrange your own outfit and preparation. Extra cost only applies if you'd like our help coordinating makeup/hair, rentals, dressing, transport, or vendors — and that's available on Premium.

Can we shoot a pre-wedding session at Mt. Fuji / Kawaguchiko?

Yes — Kawaguchiko and other regions outside our five main cities are available on the Premium package.

How far in advance should we book?

For a dedicated trip built around the shoot — common among couples travelling from Singapore and Southeast Asia — booking 6 to 12 months ahead gives the most flexibility on season and location. If a pre-wedding shoot is one part of a broader Japan trip, a few months' notice is usually enough.

Can we combine vibes or outfits in one session?

Yes — many couples split their day between a classic setting and an urban one, or change outfits partway through. Let us know when you book so we can plan the timing.

How many photos will we receive?

You'll receive a full edited digital gallery. Exact photo count varies by session length and location count — we're happy to walk through expectations when you book.

Is a pre-wedding shoot different from an engagement shoot?

They're often used interchangeably. In our experience, a pre-wedding shoot in Japan tends to be a fuller session — sometimes with multiple outfits and locations — while an engagement shoot is typically shorter and simpler. Both can be booked through this page.
